I used AI to optimize my resumes. I used prompts that enhanced tone, clarity, and industry relevance. First of all, I uploaded my original resume and explained that I needed to change my resume in order to target specific industries. The first one is Marketing and the second one is Teaching. I also directed AI to clean up my original version with a cleaner looking design with bullet points. As I gave AI more detailed information of what I was looking for, it produced better results for me. When I gave more general requests, it only changed a little bit but not a huge improvement.
The change that I noticed most about my original resume and the AI versions is how specific each is geared towards the specific industry that I explained. The resume for Teaching focused more on curriculum design, classroom management, organization, and communication. The resume for Marketing focused on branding, social media strategy, analytics, and audience management.
What I learned about prompt engineering and tailoring content for different audiences is that prompt engineering requires specific explanation of what I am asking. The more information that I give AI, the better my results are. I also learned how effective AI can be in helping me tailor my content for different audiences or purposes.
